The tiles listed above are for the fabricators who wish to make their own tools either by waxing or cementing the tiles on a metal backer or by using plaster (preferable dental plaster) to make a tool by replicating off of the mirror’s surface.

If the fabricator constructs a tool out of plaster and tile, he should remember to seal the exposed plaster with shellac or paraffin wax. Follow the directions of the book you are using as a guide.

* The ceramic tiles are offered by different names for constructing mirror grinding tools but they are basically tiles used in the construction industry around kitchen and bathroom sinks. One need only look at the matrix to see if the particles are uniform, small, and of the same type of material throughout the tile.
