The Newtonian-type blanks are molded with the F/D curve on one face and the second face is surface ground flat. The blanks are all fine annealed Pyrex® 7740. Precision annealed blanks are available on request.

Grinding tools (plate glass) can be purchased elsewhere in this catalog. The requisite tools have a convex curve molded on one face that corresponds to the F/D curves on the mirror blanks listed above.

The F/D curves have been molded into the mirror and tool blanks to assist the fabricator in generating the desired curve in a shorter period of time.

CUSTOM NEWTONIAN MIRROR BLANKS

Note: Other sizes can be made to the fabricator's specifications up to 40 inches in diameter subject to certain limitations. To facilitate our quotation process, the fabricator should submit a drawing of the blank together with the dimensional measurements.
