PLEASE ALLOW 10 DAYS FOR DOMESTIC CHECKS AND 30 DAYS FOR FOREIGN DRAFTS OR CHECKS TO CLEAR OUR BANK. ALL PERSONAL CHECKS MUST BE ENCODED WITH AN ADDRESS OF THE MAKER. ALL AMOUNTS TO BE PAID IN UNITED STATES CURRENCY.

NEWPORT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DELETE, DISCONTINUE, MODIFY AND/OR CHARGE ANY CATALOGUE ITEM WITHOUT NOTICE. THIS INCLUDES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE SPECIFICATIONS, DESIGNS, MODELS, AND PRICES WITHOUT NOTICE.

SHIPPING COSTS

F.O.B. FACTORY:

ALL PRICES LISTED IN THE CATALOGUE OR RELATED PRICE LIST ARE F.O.B. OUR PLANT. SHIPPING AND HANDLING CHARGES ARE PREPAID AND WILL BE ADDED TO YOUR INVOICE THESE CHARGES ARE DUE AND PAYABLE PRIOR TO SHIPMENT. THE ESTIMATED SHIPPING CHARGES WILL BE PROVIDED AT THE TIME OF QUOTATION OR WHEN PLACING AN ORDER IF YOU REQUESTED IT. THE ESTIMATED SHIPPING CHARGES ARE JUST AN ESTIMATE AND THE ACTUAL CHARGES THAT ARE DUE AND PAYABLE WILL BE DETERMINED AT THE TIME OF SHIPMENT.

 

FOR DOMESTIC SHIPMENTS:

WE WILL USE UNITED PARCEL SERVICE (U.P.S.) WHENEVER POSSIBLE. A STREET ADDRESS "AS THE SHIP TO ADDRESS" IS REQUIRED TO BE GIVEN AT THE TIME OF ORDER. EXCEPTIONS TO THIS WILL BE GIVEN TO INDIVIDUALS IN THE MILITARY.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

FOR DOMESTIC PARCEL POST SHIPMENT: DELIVERY TO HAWAII AND ALASKA TAKES UP TO 6 WEEKS. AIR PARCEL PSOT IS AVAILABLE BUT THE COSTS DEPEND UPON THE DESTINATION AND THE WEIGHT.

 

FOR INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS:

   WE WILL USE THE UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE (PARCEL POST SERVICE) WHEN EVER POSSIBLE TO MAKE INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS UNLESS OTHERWISE ADVISED BY YOU. THE POSTAL SERVICE HAS WEIGHT LIMITATIONS ON PACKAGES BASED ON THE DESTINATION COUNTRY, E.G., EACH PARCEL USUALLY CAN NOT WEIGHT MORE THAN 40 POUNDS. SHIPMENTS TO CERTAIN COUNTRIES CAN NOT BE INSURED FOR LOSE OR DAMAGE.

PARCEL POST SERVICE DESIRED:

  PLEASE ADVISE IF YOU WANT YOUR PARCEL TO GO BY AIR PARCEL POST OR BY SEA/SURFACE PARCEL POST SERVICE.

SHIPMENT OTHER THAN BY PARCEL POST:

  IF YOU WISH TO HAVE YOU INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENT TO BE HANDLED BY A COMPANY OTHER THAN THE POSTAL SYSTEM OR IF THE PART YOU ORDER IS TOO LARGE FOR THE POSTAL SYSTEM, THEN WE ADVISE YOU TO MAKE ARRANGEMENT WITH THE ONE OF THE INTERNATIONAL CARRIERS OR FREIGHT FORWARDERS IN YOUR COUNTY TO PICKUP THE SHIPMENT AT OUR FACILITIES WHEN IT IS READY. YOU MAY BE ABLE TO NEGOTIATE A BETTER RATE.

 

DAMAGED ITEMS

DAMAGED GOODS:

YOU SHOULD NOTIFY THE COMPANY DELIVERING YOUR SHIPMENT IMMEDIATELY IF YOU DISCOVER THAT THE PRODUCT HAS BEEN DAMAGED IN TRANSIT TO YOU, E.G., UNITED PARCEL, POSTAL SERVICE, ETC. WE ALSO ASK THAT YOU REPORT THE DAMAGE TO NEWPORT.

 

RETURN OF ITEMS

RETURN OF GOODS:

THE RETURN OF GOODS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT SUFFICIENT CAUSE AND ONLY BY PREVIOUSLY OBTAINING A WRITTEN RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER FROM NEWPORT, I.E., THE AUTHORIZATION NUMBER HAS TO BE REQUESTED WITHIN 10 DAYS AFTER RECEIPT OF THE GOODS. WHEN GOODS ARE RETURNED, FREIGHT MUST BE PREPAID, AND THE PACKAGE SHOULD SHOW THE INVOICE OR PACKING SLIP NUMBER, DATE OF PURCHASE AND REFERENCE NEWPORT’S RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER. THE GOODS SHOULD BE WRAPPED/PACKAGED SO THAT THEY WILL NOT SUFFER DAMAGE WHEN RETURNED AND INSURED.

NEWPORT ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR PRODUCTS RETURNED WITHOUT PROPER AUTHORIZATION.

 

RESTOCKING CHARGE:

GOODS MUST BE RETURNED IN GOOD CONDITION, AND A RESTOCKING CHARGE OF NOT LESS THAN 20 PERCENT OF INVOICE VALUE WILL BE CHARGED ON ALL GOODS ACCEPTED BY NEPORT FOR RETURNED ITEMS. WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT THE RETURN OF SPECIALLY DESIGNED OR MODIFIED PARTS THAT ARE NOT LISTED IN OUR CATALOG. WE ALSO CAN NOT ACCEPT OPEN PACKAGES OF GRINDING AND POLISHING COMPOUNDS, CEMENTS, PITCHES, ETC. WHERE THE POSSIBILITY OF CONTAMINATION EXISTS.

SHIPMENT SHORTAGES:

SHORTAGES: CLAIMS FOR SHORTAGES IN THE SHIPMENT MUST BE MADE WITHIN 5 DAYS OF RECEIPT OF GOODS.

EVERY EFFORT WILL BE MADE TO HANDLE CUSTOMER MATERIAL WITH THE GREATEST POSSIBLE CARE, HOWEVER, ALL SUCH HANDLING WILL BE DONE AT THE CUSTOMERS RISK AND OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT PAID TO NEWPORT FOR THE SERVICES TO BE PROFORMED.
