Procedure: First, the mat is laid on top of the ground mirror blank’s surface. Next, the hot pitch is poured onto the tool. Before the pitch has time to cool, it is pressed against the mirror's ground surface with the mat on it. After the pitch has cooled while against the mirror/mat surface, the mat is pulled/separated from the pitch. The fabricator should have a faceted pitch surface.
