Introduction and Scope

 The following compendium of optical glasses is compiled from the catalogs of the primary manufacturers' of optical material in the world. It does not include all of the glass companies in the world that may have the capability of making similar materials and it does not include new materials introduced by all of the major manufacturers after May 2002.

It includes manufacturers that have ceased to exist but whose glass codes may still appear on older military drawings that have not been updated.
