Plate glass grinding tools are offered with flat surfaces (Plano) or with a convex curves approximating the f/d (focal length/diameter) indicated above. All of the tools comes with radial curve molded into them except for the 16" and 18" diameter tools. The radial curves help retain the grinding grits during processing which helps to reduce the grit consumption. The curves also help avoid the potential seizure of the tool's grinding surface with the mirror's surface during final grinding by retaining additional moisture in the grooves.

Plate glass tools are available without radial grooves if the fabricator has such a preference. Please indicate this preference in all correspondence.

*** The 16.00" and 18.00" tools are made by fusing two plate glass discs together. These tools do not have radial grooves.


Custom Grinding Tool Blanks :

Other grinding tool blanks can be made to the fabricators specifications. Please submit a drawing with the dimensional specifications to facilitate our quotation process.
